October 2009 happenings…

October 5th, 2009

Colonial Hills Church in Southaven MS have just finished up their second live project with producer/engineer  Jason Latshaw called “Unshakable”. C&C was on location for the recording which took place last month. Mixed at Ardent and due out in January 2010, the show was filmed in HD for a companion DVD to be released along with the record. Brent Climber promises it to be one of the best projects ever to come out of Colonial Hills!

Award winning producer/engineer and Ardent Studios alumnus Jeff Powell, recently asked C&C Recorders to join him on a trip to Knoxville TN to record one of it’s most popular bands, Bellfield. Recorded at the century old Bijou Theater, the band put on a great show and will head over to Memphis next week to mix it. We had a blast working with Jeff and all the guys in the band! The night went off without a hitch and 12 hours after unloading in the rain we were packing it all back up. Jeff was very impressed with our work and promises more projects very soon!!

C & C Recorders was called down to Sam’s Town Casino down in Tunica MS back in July to record Mr. Rick Springfield. Along with Proshow handling the live sound side, we were on hand specifically to record Rick’s version of Paul McCartney’s tune “Jet”. Everyone involved in the production was great. We got the song tracked 3 times before the show for safety and rolled it live with an ecstatic audience on hand. Look for the song to be released exclusively on iTunes sometime later this year.

All is good in Memphis, TN – May 2009

May 13th, 2009

We are proud to announce that Colonial Hills Church is planning a new live recording project! After the success of “Reach Out” last year, Brent Climber says he feels that God is calling them to do another and we are excited to be a part of it. Check out some of the tunes from “Reach Out” on our A/V page and visit Colonial Hills Church on the web here.

Recently, we recorded a live concert in Durant, Mississippi featuring the Brothers for Christ. Formed in 2007 by Brother Brady C. Smart, Minister Henry Parham and Brother Chad Smart, the group stays very busy spreading the message of Christ at churches, schools, centers and concert halls throughout the great state of Mississippi. The powerful show that night at Durant Missionary Baptist Church, was inspiring and honest. The group plans to head to Ardent Studios this summer to mixdown the show and get the record out as soon as possible. Check back with us soon for more details.

Ardent Music, the newly ressurected secular label that boasts power pop kings Big Star as their flagship artist, put on a show last month at the new Minglewood Hall in midtown Memphis. The concert featured Ardent’s new artists Jump Back Jake and Star&Micey as well as the Canadian quartet, Black Diamond Bay. The night was taped on 5 cameras and multitracked to Protools by C&C. It was an amazing night and all the bands played like it was a crowd of thousands instead of the hundred or so actually there. Check some of the night out on our A/V page!!

C&C teams up with The Grove Recording Studios

February 2nd, 2009

We are proud to announce a partnership with The Grove Recording Studios in Memphis. Recently we were asked to handle some of the live recording projects for the state of the art studio, which is located inside of Hope Presbyterian Church in Cordova. Our first show recorded under the Grove partnership went off without a hitch this past saturday at the Annointed Temple of Praise Church on Riverdale. It was the Breathe of Life SDA Church’s Children’s Mass Choir Concert. Some of Memphis’ finest musicians backed an extremely talented group of young students performing original material written mostly by local songwriters. Calvin Barnes; who is producing, writing and playing on the project, plans to record a few more songs in the studio and include the live concert as part of the finished product. It was a smooth show thanks to all who were involved in the production. We want to thank Adam Hite and everyone at the Grove Recording Studio for their support and we look forward to working together in the future.

What’s Goin’ On

November 6th, 2008

Grammy Award nominated producer/engineer Jason Latshaw of Ardent Studios is currently mixing the “Reach Out” live concert project that we recorded for Colonial Hills Church in Southaven, Mississippi. The show, which was recorded back in August, is the church’s first full fledged 48 track live recording and we are all highly anticipating its release.

Worship leader Brent Climber says the project gives people a glimpse of what they will experience at a typical service at Colonial Hills Church. We want to thank Jason Latshaw, Brent Climber and Scott Little for allowing us to be a part of this project and we look forward to working with them in the future!!

The “Reach Out” record is slated to be released on November 23rd. In the meantime check them out at www.chbc.net
